Haydn Smith


Haydn Smith has worked in both the information technology and arts industries for the past 25 years. As well as holding a Graduate Diploma in Applied Information Systems and a Masters of Business in Information Technology he has undergraduate qualifications in Education as well as Art and Design.


Before founding imuse information systems and artadata software, Haydn worked variously as an IT Manager, Educator, Librarian, Data Manager, Programmer, Web Producer, Business Analyst and Executive Producer for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Cinemedia, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Sausage Software.


Career Highlights

2010 - Establishment of artadata software as an online application service provider to performing arts organisations

2003 - Development of datafest with co-producers Melbourne International Arts Festival.

2001 - After working in both the public and private spaces, the founding of Imuse pty ltd, a consulting and software development company dedicated to servicing the performing arts.

2000 - Senior Business Analyst with Sausage Software, the largest software producer in Australasia at the time.

1999 - Executive Producer of Victorian Government Multimedia Projects at Cinemedia (now Australian Centre for Moving Image).

1998 - Producer & Project Manager for Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's component of the Performing Arts Media Library project exploring the application of online technologies to the Performing Arts, Digital Rights Management & the development of Copyright guidelines.

1994 - State Executive for ABC Classic FM (Victoria) and Federal Unit Manager of ABC's Live Music Unit

1990 - Selected for and completed the Computer Industry Training Program (set up by the Federal Government Department of Employment, Education & Training & the Australian Computer Society) in Structured Programming and Database Management at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

1987 - Facilitator for the Warlkulangu Aboriginals Artists' (Yuendumu, Northern Territory) inaugural exhibition in Melbourne, Australia where 80% of the work was sold and friends hosted the visiting artists.
