MEDIA RELEASE
OK I'M 40 SOMETHING
A COMEDY
A TRADGEDY

Marg Dobson returns to the Fringe Festival in 2007 to perform her new solo-show OK I'M 40 Something. A comedy. A tragedy. About bits of the body, brothers and balls.
Marg is a veteran of 8 Fringe Festivals, 6 Women Seasons and 9 Brunswick Street Fringe Parades. Marg Dobson was awarded the Best of the Women's Season in 1993 for her solo show The Whole Shebang.

OK I’M 40 Something is directed by Merophie Carr, renowned for her crafting of musical comedies, in the duo Die Roten Punkte and comedy team of The Business. Working from a script written by Marg at RMIT's Professional Writing and Editing course, Merophie and Marg have fine-tuned the bounce between humour and pathos and the story of Dawn.

'If 40 is the new 30, how come I feel 50?'
Dawn's life has been sitting on the bench. In an attempt to get back into the game, she attempts to exercise. OK I'm 40 Something is a laugh at the way we section off our bodies and our lives. It is a hilarious look at exercise faddism and the family dramas that creep up on us all.

Marg's previous Fringe Festival shows include: The Romanoffs, The Whole Shebang, The Teabags Marching Band, Marg and the Beast and Cooking with Marg.

Merophie Carr directed Mantalk in 2006 for Melbourne Fringe & Melbourne International Festival of the Arts, The Business and Die Roten Punkte in 2005 & 2006, a member of Melbourne Playback Theatre and received the Ewa Czajor Memorial Award in 2004.
